Staff Sergeant Ellé Crowhurst grew up traveling with her military family, but now calls Bloomington, Indiana home. She holds a Master of Music degree in Clarinet Performance and Chamber Music from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Music degree from Indiana University. She also earned a Certificate in Entrepreneurship from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, and prior to undergraduate studies earned a Certificate of Non-Degree Studies from the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, Hungary. Before joining The U.S. Army Field Band, SSG Crowhurst performed as substitute clarinet/bass clarinet with various regional orchestras in Indiana and Michigan, and attended Brevard Music Center, the Chautauqua School of Music, and the Sewanee Summer Music Festival. Her principal instructors include Daniel Gilbert, Chad Burrow, Howard Klug, Gabór Varga, Borislav Yotzov, and Emily Morgan.
